I'm Sam, a photographer and filmmaker based in Melbourne, working across Australia, Tokyo and Southeast Asia.
Travel is what taught me to see. Somewhere between unfamiliar streets, slow hotel mornings and light I'd never met before, I started noticing the things most people move too fast to catch. The quiet of a room before anyone arrives. The way a space holds a feeling. The small details that make a place feel like somewhere, not anywhere.
That became my work. I photograph hotels, resorts and the brands behind them the way they feel to actually stay in, not just how they look. Slower, warmer, more considered.
I travel the way I shoot: unhurried, and paying attention. I'd rather wait the extra hour for the right light than rush a frame.
